Em 1973, Paul Stanley e Gene Simmons fundaram fundaram o kiss em N.Y. naquela época era eles e mais um baterista, com maquiagens, "toscas" e "desanimadas".Logo Aceh Frehley se juntou a eles e a formação estava completa:Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley e Pete Criss.Aí começou o show, que foi evoluindo e hoje em dia te fogos, sangue, foguetes explosões e tudo mais que voce possa imaginar.No ano seguinte (1974 lançlaram o primeiro álbum intitulado apenas "Kiss".Só em 1975 lançaram o primeiro álbum da banda a obter disco de ouro.No ano seguinte (76) lançaram destroyer, outro sucesso.Álias, os outros 3 primeiros que haviam sido lançados (que não tinham feito muito sucesso), começaram a fazer bastante sucesso.A banda foi indo ótima, até que durante as gravações de dynasty. foi decidido que Pete Criss não continuaria nas gravações. No álbum Unmasked de 80, Pete não particiou de nenhuma gravação sendo substituido.No mesmo ano, Pete foi substituido por Eric Carr,Em 82, o Kiss tirou as máscaras para revelar sua identidade no álbum "Lick It Up".Em 91, Eric Carr morreu de cancêr.A partir daí a banda não acabou, mas também não continuou. Gene tem um programa na A&E, chamado Family Jewels. O Kiss foi uma das bandas mais comercializadas (não que eles tenham se vendido paraa midia), porém, seus rostos, roupas e etc foram transformados em objetos. Hoje em dia tem de tudo, relógio do kiss,snowboard do kiss, abajur do kis e o karalho a quatro....

Rascal Flatts é uma banda Pop/country dos Estados Unidos,composta por Gary LeVox como vocalista,Neil Thrasher na guitarra,Jeff Hanna no baixo e Wendell Mobley na bateria.
Gary, que tinha apenas 16 anos, decidiu formar uma banda.No 3º colegial,um ano depois,conheceu Neil Thrasher,que também queria formar uma banda e tocava guitarra.Neil era vizinho de Jeff Hanna,que tocava baixo e foi convidado a entrar na banda por Gary.Porém,uma banda não está completa sem bateria,não é? Gary e Jeff organizaram um teste para baterista em seu colégio e resolveram escolher Daniel Sandler,um garoto que estava no 2º colegial,um ano mais novo que os outros.Porém,Gary o pegou no flagra com sua namorada,Kelly.Depois disso,ele e Kelly terminaram e Neil ajudou a organizar um novo teste.Nele conheceram o baterista Wendell Mobley,que atualmente faz parte da banda.A banda,antes chamada de The Rising,fez um disco Demo para mandar para as gravadoras.O CD continha as músicas What Hurts The Most e Life is a Highway,e foi enviado para várias gravadoras,até que um produtor da Pixar Animation Studios ouviu Life is a Highway e decidiu coloca-la no filme.Nesta época,a namorada de Gary já havia perdido a vida num acidente de carro,e Jeff apelidou Gary de "LeVox".O produtor,no entanto,conversou com Gary a respeito da música e ele aceitou,mas tinham que mudar o nome da banda.Assim o The Rising se tornou o Rascal Flatts.

Cream foi uma banda de rock seminal dos anos 1960 formada pelo guitarrista Eric Clapton, o baixista Jack Bruce e o baterista Ginger Baker.
Célebres como o primeiro power trio do rock, o som da banda era caracterizado por uma mistura de blues e psicodelia, combinando a maestria de Clapton com a voz suave de Bruce e, às vezes, o ritmo maníaco de Baker. O Cream representa o som energético da época, ancorado em um familiar estilo blues; de clássicos tradicionais como "Crossroads" e "Born Under a Bad Sign" às excêntricas "Strange Brew" e "Tales of Brave Ulysses", culminando nas essenciais "Spoonful" e "Toad". Seus maiores hits são "I Feel Free", "Sunshine of Your Love", "White Room", "Crossroads", e "Badge" (escrita por Clapton e George Harrison).
Depois de se separarem em novembro de 1968 os integrantes do Cream voltaram a tocar juntos em 1993, quando a banda foi incluída no Hall da Fama do Rock and Roll. O grupo se reuniu novamente em Maio de 2005, tocando no Royal Albert Hall onde haviam tocado seus últimos concertos em 1968. A última vez que a banda tocou foi em 24 - 26 de Outubro de 2005 no Madison Square Garden.

The Libertines, não teria feito tanto sucesso sem ajuda dos Strokes.Eles seguiam a linha de bandas como Strokes, The Hives, e The vines.Porém, tinham um peso a mais, um tempero especial.Contrariando todo aquele movimento "indie rock", eles tinham uma essencia Blues na sua musica.Seu primeiro disco, "Up the Bracket", chegou nas logas em 2003. A banda ganhou ficou bem famosa, principalmente por causa do polemico vocalista Pet Doherty, que gosta de se meter em confusões, fumar, cheirar, injetar e fugir de clinicas de reabilitação.Os outros dois integrantes são o baterista Gary Powell e com o baixista John Hassall.Depois de um tempo na mídia, já são intitulados a salvação da musica.No ano seguinte (2004), lançam o seugndo álbum, intitulado "The Libertines". As letras falavam basicamente sobre o que constituia suas vidas, que aparentemente se trata de dtogas, amores, e brigas entre Barat e Doherty. Eles "se atacavam nas músicas", e um dia essas brigas começaram a ficar muito sérias. Doherty anunciou sua saída da banda em maio de 2004 (simples assim.)Na verdade a banda não acabou realmente, eles vivem se juntando para alguns shows, depois se separam. Doherty montou sua nova banda, Babyshambles e seu amigo Carl Barât, continua excursionando.

Agora, Doherty tem aparecido bastante na midia, mas nada tem a ver com sua música, isso parece não existir para ele. Quando se fala sobre ele, é sobre suas confusões con drogas, bebidas, fugas de clínicas.....

Na madrugada de segunda-feira, eu em plenas ferias de julho, sem nada pra fazer, tive um estalo,"vou fazer um blog de rock'n roll" . Assim surgiu o High Skol Music.
E hoje, quando eu já ia desligando o computador, me lembrei que hoje o blog completou um mês.
Espero que tenhamos muitos e muitos meses de rock'n roll!!!

Já faz 30 anos

Apesar de eu não ser um fã de carteirinha do Elvis, é extremamente percepitivel que muita gente é.
E hoje já faz 30 anos de um momento de muita dor pro rock'n roll, a morte do rei, Elvis Presley.
A morte de Elvis Presley no dia de 16 de agosto de 1977, causada por colapso fulminante associado à disfunção cardíaca, surpreendeu o mundo, provocando comoção como poucas vezes fora vista em nossa cultura; inclusive no Brasil. Os fãs se aglomeraram em maior número em frente a mansão. As linhas telefônicas de Memphis estavam tão congestionadas que a companhia telefônica pediu aos residentes para não usarem o telefone a não ser em caso de emergência. As floriculturas venderam todas as flores em estoque. O velório aconteceu no dia 17. Alguns, dos milhares de fãs, puderam ver o caixão por aproximandamente 4 horas.

Arctic Monkeys, uma banda que realmente está fazendo algo diferente. Sim, é dificil classifica-los. Alguns chamam de pós-punk, outros indie rock.Eles se ultilizam de mais do que guitarras para suas musicas. Em 2001,Alex turner e Jamie Cook montaram uma banda com seus amigos Andy Nicholson(baixo) e Matt Helders (bateria).Começaram tocar covers de bandas de classic rock.Em 2003, gravaram cd's demos, para distribuir aos amigos e "fãs". Os demos foram parar na internet (que hoje em dia, é uma ferramente PODEROSA, pra quem quer ficar conhecido "sem sair de casa").Em 2005 lançaram um EP. com 1500 cópias em cd, e 2000 em vinil.Assinaram um contrato com a Domino Records, e "i bet you look good on the dancefloor" foi para nas paradas britanicas.

Finalmente em 2006 lançaram o primeiro álbum "Whatever people say i am, i'm not". O álbum foi um grande sucesso,em uma semana venderam 363.735 cópias. Um pouco mais tarde, o baixista foi expulso, e Nick O'Malley entrou para a banda.Em agosto tiveram seu primeiro single a não chegar as paradas de sucesso, "Leave Before The Lights Come On". Pra compensar, ganharam o Mercury Prize com o primeiro album.Em Abril de 2007 lançaram Favourite Worst Nightmare...

Agora, eu tava notando uma coisa, a banda foi formada em 2002/2003 e só gravou o primeiro disco em 2006. É meus amigos, it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll....

Mais uma banda que pode ressucitar o rock, que na minha opinião, nunca morreu, só foi fuzilado pela mídia.A banda de hoje, vem da austrália,que parace ser um bom lugar para o rock, várias bandas boas vieram de lá (ex:ac/dc e jet). Wolfmothe! Essa banda surgiu em 2003, mas tem como objetivo tocar o bom e velho hard-rock dos anos 70 (dizem que até alguns instrumentos, cubos e regulagens de soms são iguais aos usados pelos seus ídolos nos anos 70).Sua formação é:Andrew Stockdale (vocal e guitarra), Chris Ross (baixo e teclado) e Myles Heskett (bateria). O Wolfmothe usou eventos de música para começar a aparecer e a ganhar certo respeito. Em 2005, a banda se mudou para Los Angeles para gravar o primeiro disco.A partir daí foi hit atrás de hit, só em 2006 ganharam 4 premiações.A ultima premiação, foi no grammy 2007, onde ganharam o premio de "Melhor desempenho de Hard Rock", ganhando de várias bandas já consagradas no cenário musical.Sim, o texto está curto, porque a banda está apenas começando e ainda tem muita história a ser feita.
